West Midlands · Delivered RemotelyLandlord Bookkeeping in Birmingham & the West Midlands
Remote, specialist property bookkeeping for Birmingham and West Midlands landlords - work with a specialist landlord-bookkeeper wherever you and your properties are. We turn scattered records into clear, reconciled schedules your accountant can rely on. Bookkeeping only; no tax advice. Current as at 12 September 2026.
Run by professional landlords with decades of experience of property and accounting for their own businesses.
Birmingham and the wider West Midlands form one of the UK’s largest and most varied rental markets. City-centre regeneration, major universities, established suburbs and commuter towns all sit side by side. Landlords here often hold a mix of city-centre flats, student HMOs and family homes across several areas at once.
We are not a Birmingham firm on your doorstep. We are a specialist landlord-bookkeeping service that works with West Midlands landlords remotely. As a portfolio grows, records tend to scatter - some in bank statements, some in agent portals, some in spreadsheets, email or on paper. We take the records you already hold and turn them into clear, reconciled schedules, property by property and year by year. Bookkeeping and documentation, plus optional personal Self Assessment filing; we do not give tax advice or file company returns.
From Structured Landlord Bookkeeping
- Property-by-property schedules showing income and expenditure clearly for each tax year
- Transactions grouped into simple, repeatable categories - rent, repairs, insurance, service charges, finance costs
- Records reconciled to bank and agent statements, with gaps and anomalies flagged for you to resolve
- Documentation your accountant can work from without rebuilding your records from scratch
The West Midlands Rental Landscape
The region mixes city-centre redevelopment, big universities, industrial-heritage areas and long-established suburbs. Many landlords hold property across several of these at once, with a different letting set-up for each. A few of the areas we see often:
Birmingham city centre
Flats near New Street, Snow Hill, the Jewellery Quarter and canalside developments - service charges and ground rents to track.
Established suburbs
Harborne, Moseley, Kings Heath, Erdington, Sutton Coldfield - family homes and professional lets.
Student HMOs
Around the University of Birmingham, Aston, BCU, Coventry and Warwick - higher-occupancy houses with more transactions to reconcile.
Commuter towns
Solihull, Bromsgrove, Redditch, Lichfield, Tamworth - family homes with strong transport links.
The Black Country
Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley, West Bromwich - different market dynamics and tenant demographics.
Coventry
Strong student demand from Coventry University and the University of Warwick, plus ongoing city regeneration.
Our Structured Bookkeeping Approach
A consistent way of keeping the books, built for rental portfolios and delivered digitally:
- Capture and categorise rental income and property expenditure
- Property-by-property schedules for each tax year
- Reconcile letting-agent statements against bank movements
- Organise invoices, receipts, service-charge and ground-rent demands
- Digital files by property and year for long-term reference
- Year-end bookkeeping packs ready for accountants and advisers
This complements our bookkeeping services, and the records support Making Tax Digital and the Section 24 rules.

- Identify missing items for you to obtain or address with your adviser
- Prepare documentation in a logical format for professional review

- Provide legal advice or representation
Birmingham & West Midlands Landlords: Your Questions
Are you based in Birmingham?
No - we are a specialist landlord-bookkeeping service that works with landlords across the UK, including throughout Birmingham and the West Midlands. Our service is fully digital, so we support your properties wherever they are, without needing to meet in person.
Can you handle a portfolio spread across the West Midlands?
Yes. Mixed portfolios - Birmingham city-centre flats, student HMOs, and family homes in the suburbs and commuter towns - are exactly what our property-by-property schedules are built for.
Do you support student HMOs near the universities?
Yes. Many West Midlands landlords let to students around the University of Birmingham, Aston, BCU, Coventry and Warwick. Student HMOs bring their own bookkeeping quirks - rent per room rather than per property, the academic year cutting across the tax year, and higher transaction volumes - and we keep all of that clear, room by room and property by property.
Do you file tax returns or give tax advice?
For landlords who own personally, we can prepare and file your Self Assessment return (from £150). For a company, the corporation tax return (CT600) is prepared and filed by your own accountant. Tax advice itself we leave to a qualified tax adviser. Everything is built on the records we produce.
How do we work together if we never meet?
Everything is handled digitally and securely. You share your records the way that suits you; we return organised, reconciled schedules by property and tax year. It works the same whether you are in Birmingham, the wider West Midlands, or elsewhere in the UK.
Where can I see your fees?
Fees are published separately on our Pricing page. This page does not show pricing.
